BAC Mono are the first company to use the revolutionary graphene on the manufacture of a car. Graphene is both stronger and lighter than carbon fibre.Graphene is made from a sheet of carbon just one atom thick and is lighter and stronger than Carbon Fiber. Weight reductions could see a drop of at least 20% which would have have significant improvements on performance.
BAC have concentrated on using the graphene for the rear arches because of their size and complexity, which allowed the material and manufacturing process to be thoroughly tested.
BAC Mono is still testing out the graphene in the builds but the company is seriously considering the introduction of graphene parts as an option for customers in the future.
