They first teased the Dendrobium a few months ago, now Geneva Motor Show is upon us they have revealed the Singapore designed hypercar in full.
Its being co-developed with Williams Advanced Engineering, so some serious weight behind it.
Their targeting a 2.7seconds 0-60mph, but the 200mph top speed target seems a little under whelming, they are wanting the hypercar title after all – whilst unprecedented at present for an all-electric vehicle, this is supercar performance territory in my view.
What Vanda is doing is quite incredible considering their size, being a small (as in 20 employees small) firm, partnering up with the likes of Williams is a must to ensure stability and trust that it will see the light of day, especially with the likes of F1 inspired Valkyrie from Aston Martin and the Project One from Mercedes AMG – both with vast experience in road cars.
The body is being made out of carbon, with the monocoque built onto two subframes. The car will feature push rod suspension and the batteries behind the driver and low in the frame to aid the centre of gravity.
Vanda are targeting a weight of 1,750kg. The Dendrobium will also be all wheel drive, with 2 motors front and 2 back.
Many projects fail to see production, but hopefully Vanda – with the support of Williams aren’t one of those statistics!
