Hyundai is set to launch a new line of N performance hot hatches, along with the news is a sneak preview with the RM16 concept. The range is set to launch with the i30N hot hatch, expected to launch 2017.
The RM16 is Hyundai’s third mid-engined Veloster concept and has evolved from the RM14 and RM15. Sitting behind the front seats lies a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that produces 296bhp.
Like it’s predcessors, the RM16 will have a six-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai has a strong preference towards manual trasmission in it’s performance vehicles but they are expected to launch an automatic model in 2018.
The RM16 will also come with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential (LSD) and an electric supercharger. I have to say this car looks stunning, the bodywork is designed to create downforce at speed and includes and active wing and carbonfibre reinforced panels
