Theres a new competitor in town hoping to take over the SUV Market and they go by the name of Lynk & Co. This is their first model of SUV called 01 and is due to go on sale in Europe and America towards the end of 2018.
The 01 is a small, stylish and high-tech SUV owned by a Chinese company but produced in Gothemburg. You may be forgiven thinking it looks slightly like a Volvo, Many of the senior executives are ex-Volvo and much of the technology have come with them.
The 01 will come with a large 10.1-inch configurable central touchscreens, telematics that are always connected to the internet and the car’s own cloud. dedicated apps will allow the owner to monitor and control many of the car’s features remotely.
They are also thinking towards the future. The car will come with a share my car button which will allow the owner to rent his car out through the internet. It will also see a collaboration between them, Microsoft and other companies to give the driver most things they want a touch of a button.
Engines include a new Volvo 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol and the existing Volvo 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol. A hybrid version will be offered too, obviously a Volvo-sourced plug-in hybrid. There’s also a choice of two or four-wheel drive.
