McLaren MSO have revealed the 720S Velocity – a 720S that been tinkered with by the Special Operations team.
Most notable is the paintwork, which took MSO 300 hours to layer!
It consists of two pearlescent hues of red split over the car, with Nerello Red on the front and upper body panels of the car, it looks stunning as is fades to a red carbon fibre and then fading to volcano red on the sides and rear.
A new set of bronze boots feature as well – not being a big fan of bronze/gold wheel it really does suit it.
Ofcourse a custom version wouldn’t be without extra carbon, lots of it too!
There’s the red carbon fibre bonnet, a gloss carbon deck vent, gloss carbon fibre service cover, a gloss carbon rear aero bridge and a satin carbon full-length sill cover.
You might be thinking, this looks expensive and you would be right – it’s £120,000 – on top of the £207,900 for a standard 720S!
MSO see’s a huge amount of customers having modifications made, probably to help create a more unique car and help hold the cars value – 65% of 675 LT owners have had modifications made to their supercars.
“Unless you’re Frank Stephenson [McLaren’s Director of Design] it’s very hard to imagine something from a blank piece of paper and be creative,” James Banks, Head of Bespoke Cars at McLaren Special Operations tells us.
That’s why MSO are now offering Velocity as well as four other default options (above) from MSO for the 720S to help get customers creative juices flowing. These are: ‘GT’, ‘Pacific’, ‘Track’ and ‘Stealth’, and are all meant to appeal to different buyers with different tastes and interests.
