Kia finally enters the four door performance market with the Stinger
Kia have finally revealed after years of teasing their new high performance RWD saloon car called the Stinger.
Lets get to the juicy bit first, a turbocharged 2.0litre four starts the range off, with a twin-turbo V6 in top spec form. Kia have stated it will be available in the USA in either rear or all wheel drive but it’s not known if both options will be available over in the UK.
What’s in the top spec? Along with the twin-turbo V6 comes Brembo four-piston calipers, multilink suspension and high-end Harman/Kardon audio.
It’s 3.3-litre, twin-turbo V6, with 365bhp and 376lb ft of torque pushes it to a 0-62mph time of 5.1 seconds and reaches a top speed f 167mph. The turbocharged version still has a respectable 255bhp and 260lb ft torque, not bad for a Kia!
Both versions have an eight speed auto gearbox, with no manual options by the looks of things.
Kia say it will be light, with stiff independent suspension making it an agile handler, sitting in a compromise between comfort, luxuries and performance.
The cabin is low slung and features plenty of Nappa leather for the luxurious look and feel and rather surprisingly, dash screens which read out the G’s and lap times!
